The Client
With over 45 years in business, Punta Car is a leader in the Uruguayan car rental market, both for corporate and leisure travel, with nine offices across the country. Punta Car company offers a wide selection of car rentals in Montevideo Uruguay, including economy rental cars, pickup trucks, minivans and SUVs.
The Need
Punta Car management sought to eliminate inefficiencies in its car rental process so that it could make it easier for clients to book a car automatically online, instead of having to email its team and inquire about availability. Its business was also suffering because without an online booking engine, would-be customers were able to reserve cars and then forget about their reservations or change their mind last minute, as they did not have to pay ahead of time.
The Solution
Punta Car teamed up with the Dynamia team which consisted of two developers and one UX/UI designer to develop its online car rental booking engine.
We delivered a fully-responsive website that is simple and minimalist with strong mechanisms under the hood using PHP, MySQL, HTML, and web services connecting with .NET.
The backend of the engine connects three different softwares together for payment, invoicing and the car booking manager in order to deliver a seamless and complete online customer experience. This integration enables the user to book any car and pay for it online from the frontend of the system while on the backend, the real time availability of the inventory is verified and the reservation is created.
Results
The Punta Car team has seen significant savings in time, having eliminated the back and forth communication process between its management team and potential customers looking to reserve a car. It has also significantly increased the volume of bookings, thanks to its easy-to-use cloud car rental booking platform.
On top of that, the cloud platform has a complete backend that allows Punta Car management to create customized background pictures, special promotions and discount codes all with just a few clicks, without any additional development involved.
